From a genuine friendship, thanks to discussion, exchange of opinions and shared passions, winning ideas can be born that are then able to turn into concrete projects. This is what happened to Carlo De Filippo and Diego Sgarbossa, the two young founders of Naturæ Gin.
Carlo is an agricultural surveyor who is passionate about plants and scouting, Diego, on the other hand, is a chef and food service technician who enjoys growing herbs. What they have in common is a unconditional love of nature, which translates, on a practical level, into protecting its fragile ecosystems to restore them to their former glory.
This is how this brand of spirits inspired, from production to marketing, by Mother Nature and the world of plants was born. Carlo and Diego's different life experiences have found common ground in the art of distilling and, in particular, in the production of gin. In the vast world of spirits, gin represents the meeting point between their two different professions: gin is created on the basis of the right balance of botanicals, which cannot be achieved without a deep knowledge of distillation techniques and raw materials.
This synergy led, in June of last 2021, to the birth of Naturæ Gin and Fructetum, the first reference. Fructetum is a London Dry Gin with an alcohol content of 43% vol. produced, using artisanal techniques, from a certified Organic alcohol base of only selected grains. To be consumed either neat or blended, thanks to its lovely and balanced taste, Fructetum is infused with the highest quality botanicals: juniper, orange peel, bergamot, apple, rosehip, coriander seeds and cubebe pepper.
Diego and Carlo's commitment to environmental protection is not limited to gin production and the use of excellent raw materials. Naturæ Gin, in fact, stands on a entirely environmentally sustainable philosophy, the true cornerstone of the entire brand. Concepts such as those of sustainability and eco-compatibility are the driving force behind the project: through, for example, the use of packaging plastic free, recyclable polypropylene labels, and 100% PCR glass bottles, an attempt is made to settle the debt that man owes to nature.
In this regard, a portion of the proceeds is donated to Treedom, a platform that allows people to plant trees remotely, thereby supporting reforestation of the planet.
But there is much more: since its founding, Diego and Carlo have pursued the goal of making Naturæ Gin the first Italian company in the sector beverage carbon negative; this means being able to eliminate more carbon dioxide than is emitted during each individual step of the production process.
To drink Naturæ Gin is to raise the tumblers high and to toast the precious planet we live on.
